About Us
Creation of the Award concept
The innovation of the Australian Achiever Awards took place in March 1998.
They were conceived from a background steeped in the things that affect Brand Image and awareness for some of Australia s major brand names.
Dulux, Kit Kat, Dunlop, RACV Aussie Assist, Codral, Philips electrical, Deep Spring are all names that the developer of these Awards has worked closely with and are all names that occupy a little piece of most people s minds. Over the decades, huge numbers of dollars have been applied to enticing consumers perceptions towards loving, or at least favouring, big business brands. Large back pockets, mass media and some brilliant creative ideas are the keys to achieving that objective.
But ultimately, if a customer is not satisfied, it doesn t work. No matter how much money you
throw at it.
|
The customer remains king, and is a major influence on business success or failure. Customers can extoll the virtues of a brand, product or service - or be part of the rejection process or a groundswell against one that doesn t meet their expectation.
This formula for success applies equally to any business, no matter it s size. A measure of customer service levels is, more often than not, the deciding factor.
Large business treats customer service seriously (although many don't apply it effectively) and often uses customer service as a spearhead marketing strategy. They will spend inordinate amounts of money persuading people about how good they are.
Many small and medium sized businesses also treat customer service as a serious part of their strategy, and apply it well. It is often the deciding factor between you or your competitor getting the business. But these businesses have little resource to use it convincingly as a marketing tool - more often than not creating a cynical customer response. How many times have you passed over, or given no regard to, variations of the claim we serve you better .
|
The foundation platform for the Australian Achiever Awards concept of Excellence in Customer Service was the way of turning the scales on this typical cynicism. It has become a cost-effective Award instrument that gives independent endorsement and verification to the high level of service a deserving business can claim.
The Awards were created to encourage, recognise and promote excellence in customer service in small to medium sized business. They give the businesses that truly provide good customer service a responsible and credible way to showcase this commitment.
